June 16, 2026 - A Terex CTT 472-20t flat-top tower crane is supporting construction of the 110-story Pinnacle SkyTower in Toronto, a project identified as the tallest residential building currently under development in Canada.

Supplied by Cropac Equipment, the official Terex Tower Cranes dealer for Eastern Canada, the crane was sold to project contractor Premform and climbed to a final height of 1,142 feet as work progressed on the tower.

Located on Toronto’s waterfront, the Pinnacle SkyTower is part of the larger Pinnacle One Yonge development, a mixed-use project that will include residential, hospitality and commercial space. The development will also feature a Le Méridien hotel at podium level.

“We are proud to have partnered with Premform, contractor of the project, from the earliest stages of the development by providing a lifting solution capable of supporting the project’s ambitious schedule and height requirements,” stated Joel Hunt, senior sales representative, Cropac Equipment.

According to Terex, the crane was selected for its lifting capacity and adaptability to changing jobsite conditions throughout construction. Cropac supplied additional mast sections, tie collars and climbing components as part of the crane package.

“Development of this scale requires lifting capacity, great tower versatility and the ability of adapting to evolving site conditions, while maintaining high-performance throughout every phase of construction. Included in the supply package, Cropac provided additional mast sections, tie-collars and related climbing components,” Hunt continued.

The crane utilized an anchoring system with 16 internal ties and was progressively climbed alongside the structure until reaching its final height.

Configured with a 180-foot jib and a tip load capacity of 6.24 metric tons, the Terex CTT 472-20t includes an 80-kilowatt hoist capable of maximum lifting speeds of approximately 643 feet per minute. According to the company, the crane configuration provided the reach and lifting performance needed for material handling throughout construction.

The Terex CTT 472-20t has been part of the project for the past four years and is scheduled to be dismantled later in the third quarter of 2026.
