Bill Stramer, senior vice president of marketing, sales and customer support at Link-Belt Cranes (LBC), will retire at the end of June 2025 after 50 years with the company, President and CEO Melvin Porter said.
Stramer’s career with Link-Belt began in 1975 as a design engineering draftsman.
He later joined the technical services group for FMC Link-Belt in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before transitioning into sales. From 1981 to 1989, he served as district sales manager for the Rocky Mountain region, overseeing Link-Belt’s distributor network from Edmonton, Alberta, to El Paso, Texas.
In 1989, Stramer moved to Lexington, Kentucky, to become product manager for telescopic cranes, playing a key role in the development of Link-Belt’s hydraulic truck and rough terrain crane lines.
He was promoted to director of crane marketing and sales in 1994, marking the beginning of his long-standing involvement with industry organizations such as the Specialized Carrier and Rigging Association and the Canadian Crane Rental Association where he held leadership positions.
Stramer was named vice president of marketing, sales and customer support in 2004 before being promoted to senior vice president in 2017.
“I would like to thank Bill for five decades of dedicated service to Link-Belt Cranes,” Porter said.
“In his role as senior vice president of marketing, sales and customer support and as a member of the LBC board, he has helped to shape and grow the company. He is a well-known and respected leader within the industry. I want to wish Bill and his family the very best as he begins a new chapter in his life.”
Stramer’s leadership and contributions to Link-Belt Cranes have played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and success over the past five decades.
