October 6, 2026 - Patriot Crane & Rigging has added a Tadano AC 5.250L-2 all-terrain crane to its fleet, expanding its equipment lineup with a 300-ton-capacity crane. The company purchased the crane through Tadano’s Nebraska distributor, RTL Equipment.
The AC 5.250L-2 has a 259-foot, seven-section main boom and is rated for a maximum capacity of 300 U.S. tons. The five-axle all-terrain crane is designed for applications including urban construction, industrial assembly, and tower crane erection.
Scott “Sham” Shamburg, owner of Patriot Crane & Rigging, said, “We’re thrilled to add the Tadano AC 5.250L-2 to our fleet. This crane gives us the lifting capacity, reach, and versatility needed for several larger and more challenging projects in our region. Combined with its easy roadability between job sites, this was a clear investment in better serving our clients and keeping project timelines on track.”
The crane is also configured for transport flexibility. It can operate as a taxi crane with a 26,500-pound axle load configuration while carrying additional equipment and meeting road regulations. Its counterweight system also allows smaller trucks to be used for transportation when space is limited.
The AC 5.250L-2 includes Tadano’s IC-1 Plus intelligence system and Surround View six-camera system. Tadano introduced the model in 2025.
RTL Equipment CEO Ben Steege said, “Tadano cranes really excel in providing a high-quality experience for our customers. Scott and Patriot have built a sterling reputation on quality and service, and the Tadano machines fit that perfectly. We are so excited to see our similarly aligned businesses continue to grow together.”
Tadano America Regional Business Manager Dave Kuhlman said, “We are extremely excited to see the success that Patriot Crane & Rigging will have with this 300-ton crane. The AC 5.250L-2 is an outstanding machine, and it will be the perfect taxi crane for Patriot’s extensive customer base across Nebraska.”
Patriot Crane & Rigging has served contractors and businesses in Nebraska for more than 14 years. The company said the new crane will be added to its taxi crane service.
