Oct. 16, 2023 - Atlantic Coast Cranes, a leading provider of heavy lifting solutions in the Atlantic Coast region, recently held an open house to showcase Terex’s new TRT 40US rough terrain crane.
The TRT 40US is a flexible, durable off-road crane well suited for applications like ports, construction, infrastructure, mining, energy, yard logistics, and general lifting.
It can lift up to 40 USt, sports a 99’ four-section telescopic boom, and features the Terex operating system (TEOS) on a user-friendly 10” touch screen to increase operating efficiency.
The crane’s 8.3’ width and four steering options (front wheel, rear wheel, four wheel coordinated, and crab) enable it to maneuver easily on congested job sites and in narrow areas.
The four-cylinder Cummins QSB4.5 Tier 4 Final/Stage V diesel engine and Terex’s Eco Mode deliver ample power while also optimizing fuel economy.
Terex T-Link telematics come standard. They give customers real-time information about the crane’s performance and allow geo-location and remote diagnostics.
The Atlantic Coast open house included informative presentations, live demonstrations, and hands-on experience with the crane.

Waldo C. Jones Jr., owner and president of Atlantic Coast Cranes said that the company was thrilled to welcome customers and other industry professionals to see the new crane.
"Crane operators liked the user-friendly TEOS system and the telematics, as well as the ability to individualize the controls and comfort,” said Jones.
He added that customers liked the crane’s compact footprint and ability to get into tight places that other cranes can’t get into.
Josh Lawrence, regional sales manager for Terex Rough Terrain Cranes, said the event was an excellent opportunity to highlight the capabilities of the TRT 40US, showcase Terex’s expertise, and demonstrate the company’s commitment to innovation.
Lawrence said that participants, mainly crane operators, praised the quality, options, and diagnostics of the TRT 40US. “The comfort of the cab generated a lot of positive feedback, as well as how easily accessible the components are to get to,” Lawrence said.
He noted that attendees also liked the four different steering options.
