Manitowoc Launches Cost-Saving Maintenance Program for Grove All-Terrain Cranes

Manitowoc has introduced a new maintenance program specifically for Grove all-terrain crane owners. This initiative, aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and simplifying maintenance, provides customized parts bundles with up to 10% cost savings, ensuring cranes remain in top condition and offering customers exceptional value for their investment.

The program, known as the service kits program, offers tailored parts bundles for each model in the GMK crane range, covering all necessary components for routine maintenance. These kits include essential items like oil and air filters, O rings and various other parts required for regular upkeep.

“The kits are designed by model, and the crane’s age isn’t considered because the maintenance level is what it is when it is needed,” says Astrid Hager-Guthrie, Manitowoc’s parts pricing manager. “So, for 1,000 hours, we make recommendations for the different components on the crane and wrap it up into a kit. Let’s say for engine oil filters: whatever is required of the significant components after 1,000 hours of service, that’s what goes into the kit, and at a reduced list price.”

Manitowoc’s program not only provides a 10% discount when purchasing these kits as bundles but also reduces shipping costs by consolidating parts into a single shipment. This approach is said to minimize expenses and simplifies the logistics of managing multiple shipments.

Maintenance intervals for Grove all-terrain cranes have been refined over the years, particularly for models with dual engines compared to single-engine variants. Manitowoc has adjusted these intervals to ensure each crane receives the appropriate level of care, maximizing its operational efficiency.

The company’s dealer network plays a crucial role in delivering this service, facilitating smooth communication and service provision. During the warranty period, dealers manage routine maintenance tasks, leveraging their expertise to maintain the cranes effectively.

For those seeking comprehensive maintenance solutions, Manitowoc offers tailored contracts that span three to five years, involving a monthly subscription fee. These contracts cover all necessary maintenance, providing crane owners with worry-free service and ensuring their equipment remains in peak condition.

“With Manitowoc's Service Kits Program and comprehensive maintenance contracts, crane owners can now enjoy enhanced convenience, lower costs, and peace of mind, ensuring their equipment remains in peak condition for years to come,” Hager-Guthrie added.
