July 10, 2026 - Liebherr tower cranes are playing a key role in several of Miami's largest residential and mixed-use developments, with the company's EC-B, EC-H and HC-L crane models currently operating across seven major projects in the city.

The cranes are being deployed by Morrow Equipment Company, Liebherr's exclusive tower crane distributor in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The projects span several Miami neighborhoods, including Brickell, Edgewater, Park West and the Miami Worldcenter district, and collectively represent thousands of new residential units.

According to Liebherr, the projects highlight the demands of high-rise construction along Florida's coast, where contractors face tight urban jobsites, hook heights approaching 230 meters (754.59 feet), seasonal hurricane conditions and high humidity.

Liebherr's EC-B flat-top cranes are being used on several sites because their compact tower heads allow multiple cranes to operate in close proximity. The EC-H high-top series provides additional lifting capacity for taller structures, while HC-L luffing jib cranes are used where space restrictions require reduced out-of-service radii.

Morrow Equipment has served as Liebherr's exclusive North American tower crane distributor for more than 40 years. In 2022, the company added 27 Liebherr cranes to its fleet, including several 340 EC-B and 470 EC-B flat-top models and 357 HC-L luffing jib cranes, many of which are now working on projects throughout the Miami area.

Among the developments using Liebherr equipment is Villa Miami in Edgewater, a 56-story luxury condominium tower where two 316 EC-H tower cranes were approved to reach heights of approximately 230 meters (754.59 feet) and 218 meters (715.22 feet) above ground. The project had advanced beyond the 37th floor, according to recent aerial photography.

At the E11EVEN Club Hotel & Residences development in the Park West district, a Liebherr 470 EC-B crane remained in operation on the first 65-story tower until dismantling began in 2025. Construction on the project's second tower is continuing.

Cipriani Residences Miami in Brickell is also utilizing two Liebherr EC-B cranes. The 80-story residential tower reached approximately 266 meters (872.70 feet) in April 2026, temporarily becoming Miami's tallest residential building. Federal Aviation Administration filings approved crane heights of up to approximately 305 meters (1,000.66 feet) above ground at the site.

Other projects using Liebherr cranes include 600 Miami Worldcenter, which topped out in October 2025 with the assistance of two 357 HC-L luffing jib cranes; a 58-story residential tower at 46 NE 6th Street utilizing a 420 EC-H and a 316 EC-H crane; Hamilton House in Edgewater; and the St. Regis Residences Miami project in Brickell.

Liebherr said the variety of projects demonstrates the flexibility of its EC-B, EC-H and HC-L crane portfolio in meeting the lifting requirements of dense urban construction and high-rise development along the Miami coastline.
