Kobelco and Manitowoc Expand Supply Agreement
March 18, 2004 -The Manitowoc Crane Group, Manitowoc , Wis. , and Kobelco Construction Machinery Co., of Japan , have reached an agreement for supply of Grove all-terrain cranes to Kobelco. The cranes will be sold under the Kobelco brand name exclusively by Kobelco in Japan .
The first models will be introduced in 2005 and will include four models ranging in capacity from 100 to 450 metric tons. The cranes will be manufactured at Manitowoc 's factory in Wilhelmshaven , Germany . These cranes complement Kobelco's current product line of lattice boom crawler cranes and rough-terrain cranes.
This agreement follows one previously announced by the two organizations for the supply of Kobelco lattice boom crawler cranes to be sold in the Americas under the Manitowoc brand name.
