Building on its early success in the North American market, Franna, a Terex brand, is adding to its lineup of pick and carry cranes with the FR19 US model. The 19-ton capacity machine joins the Australian manufacturer’s AT24 US model introduced in August 2023.
“Following the strong performance of the AT24 US model, we’re introducing the FR19 US to the market,” said Andreas Ernst, general manager at Terex Material Handling & Lifting Americas. “This new model is also tailored to the needs of North American customers, including offering the versatility required across a wide range of industrial, construction and infrastructure applications.”
With a U-Section fabricated boom, the FR19 US has a maximum lifting capacity of 19 U.S. tons at a four-foot, 11-inch radius and a 56-foot, three-inch maximum hook height. The pick and carry crane is powered by a 121 horsepower, Cummins Tier 4F emissions-compliant engine, a powershift transmission and heavy-duty planetary drive axles.
A key design feature of the FR19US, according to Franna, is a compact form that enables easy navigation through tight spaces. The crane also has an articulated steering system for more precise maneuvering and placement of loads. Other features include overload protection, Dynamic LMI, external E-stop and automatic counterweight detection systems.
The FR19 US is equipped with an ergonomically optimized cabin that offers safety, comfort and ease of use, Franna related as well. It provides convenient access to all key maintenance points, while a torque converter eliminates the need for a clutch pedal, reducing operator fatigue during long hours of operation. Additionally, the high seated position and single lift cylinder enhances the operator’s visibility, improving safety and precision when lifting loads.
To support the FR19’s entry into the market, Franna has established a dedicated support team based in Wilmington, North Carolina that provides service, parts and technical support to customers across North America. The company is also actively expanding its dedicated distribution network of strategically located authorized distributors and service centers.
The FR19 US, according to Ernst, is part of Franna’s growth strategy in North America, which includes plans to further expand the company’s pick and carry product lineup. “We are committed to meeting the growing demands of customers across the United States with the AT44 US due to be launched later this year,” he said.
