October 3, 2023 - FleetWatcher has introduced Unauthorized Users, a new function that alerts supervisors when someone untrained or unauthorized operates equipment.
It enhances safety and limits risk by alerting designated people when an on-road or off-road asset is operated by a person who is not specifically authorized for that type of equipment.
The new FleetWatcher Unauthorized User function can be used on any asset in a fleet, and for all personnel.
For example, if an operator does not have a CDL and medical report on file, he is not permitted to operate any heavy on-road equipment. When he or she starts equipment in that class, he receives a warning, as does his or her supervisor.
The functionality can also send an alert when a driver or operator is assigned to equipment for which they are not authorized to run.
FleetWatcher Unauthorized User Alerts enhance safety by raising visibility of who is trained on what equipment, and what activities they are engaged in.
“Like all of our new functionalities, this was customer driven,” says FleetWatcher CEO Larry Baker. “Job sites can be hectic, especially during the busiest seasons, but personnel attempting to operate equipment when they are not qualified to do so can be harmful or fatal. Unauthorized Users provides an early warning to supervisors and others to keep jobsites safe and productive.”
