CONEXPO Raises Mental Health Awareness in Construction
CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 partners with AFSP to raise $112K for suicide prevention and mental health awareness in construction.
CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 highlighted mental health in construction through a partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), raising over $112,000 for suicide prevention and awareness programs.
The collaboration included educational sessions, onsite engagement and a dedicated wellness space for attendees. A notable moment occurred on the Ground Breakers Stage, where Christine Yu Moutier from AFSP discussed the growing focus on mental health in construction and the importance of supportive workplaces. The session emphasized how employers, co-workers and industry organizations can help reduce stigma and provide access to critical resources.
Attendees also visited the AFSP booth on the show floor, which offered information on suicide prevention programs, industry resources and ways companies can support mental health initiatives within their operations. A Wellness Lounge provided a quiet space for attendees to recharge while accessing mental health information.
“The construction industry is built on people, and supporting their well-being is essential to the future of our workforce,” said Dana Wuesthoff, show director for CONEXPO-CON/AGG. “Our partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention helped bring important conversations about mental health to the forefront while also providing meaningful resources for the men and women who power this industry every day.”
Funds raised will support AFSP’s mission to save lives and provide research, education, advocacy, and support for those affected by suicide. Donations are still being accepted. CONEXPO-CON/AGG, held every three years in Las Vegas, will return in March 2029.
