Barnhart Crane and Rigging Co. officially rebranded Canadian company NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul as Barnhart, following its acquisition in June 2024. The rebranding, effective immediately, marks Barnhart’s first international acquisition and its largest to date.
The company now operates eight branches across Western Canada under the Barnhart name, with locations in Edmonton, Bonnyville, Calgary, Fort McMurray and Grande Prairie, Alberta; Fort St. John and Terrace, British Columbia; and Regina, Saskatchewan.
Approximately 400 employees support Barnhart’s Canadian operations, providing crane, rigging and heavy haul services to industries including oil and gas, refining, utilities, mining, forestry and wind energy.
“The purchase of NCSG marked Barnhart’s first international acquisition and is the company’s largest single acquisition to date,” said David Webster, president of Barnhart Crane and Rigging. “While the Canadian company has an impeccable reputation, rebranding as Barnhart emphasizes the access that Canadian customers have to the wide range of engineered solutions offered by one of North America’s largest crane, rigging and logistics providers.”
Barnhart, based in Memphis, Tennessee, operates more than 70 branches across North America. The company offers a full range of heavy lifting and transportation services, including crane rentals, engineered rigging solutions and specialized logistics. With a large fleet of equipment and one of the industry’s most comprehensive inventories of lifting tools, Barnhart focuses on delivering safe, efficient and cost-effective solutions for power generation, refining, infrastructure and industrial projects.
