Adjustable Mega Bridge will Remove Flood Delays from Louisiana LNG Project
Dec. 21, 2022 - Mammoet has been awarded the opportunity to provide an adjustable super bridge as a levee crossing for the transport of modules for Plaquemines LNG project in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
When fully developed, Plaquemines LNG will be able to export up to 20 million metric tons (22 million U.S. tons) per year.
Under the agreement, Mammoet will construct and test the bridge and its components.
During the first half of 2022, Mammoet, working with Weeks Massman Joint Venture, completed the foundation, including driving piles and installing the pile caps.
It is currently testing other components of the bridge.
Robert Roest, commercial manager, special projects for Mammoet USA South, said, “We are very excited for this next major step in the continuing relationship between Venture Global and Mammoet.”
Added Mammoet Sales Manager, Mike Cook, “Extensive experience and engineering led to the design of the mega bridge. It is capable of achieving never-before-accomplished weight capacities.”
